Fîfk-èyîkè Ye (/ˈdɘkè/ /èˈjɪkè/ [necessary] [behavior]) is a temperate Large City located in the Filhanora County of the Union of Engineers.

The name Fîfk-èyîkè Ye is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Fîfk-èyîkè Ye was founded by May, who was culturaly Iron Elvish.

Climate

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 23°C (73°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Fîfk-èyîkè Ye receives an average of 264 cm/y (103 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Fîfk-èyîkè Ye covers an area of nearly 270 km2 (108 mi2), and an average elevation of 1958 m (6423 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye was founded durring the early 14th century in spring of the year 1341, by May. The establishment of Fîfk-èyîkè Ye was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Fîfk-èyîkè Ye's construction back out of the project. May pushed on reguardles, and Fîfk-èyîkè Ye was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye was built using the conventions of Iron Elvish durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fîfk-èyîkè Ye is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye is buildings are arranged within a network of restrictive cobblestone streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city is in posession of a finaly crafted dwarvern style fortified fighting wall, completer with lower, middle, and upper battlments for use in sloped-fire defence stratagies, murder holes, and statues which may or may not be constructs, and, of course, MERTICULATIONSshortsizename is one of the wealthiest and politicaly connected settlments in the world.. The Ragnarock-era relics have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye has the unmistakable air of a city on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Fîfk-èyîkè Ye ’s existence has dried up and the city is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. On top of this is an unmistakable feeling that Fîfk-èyîkè Ye is in this condition because there is something terribly wrong with the city. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Fîfk-èyîkè Ye long.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye has a library, which keeps a large collection of books, scrolls, and archives all manner of physical items. While not open to the public, the librarians and scholars employed by the library will assist anyone with their research needs, and wealthy individuals can purchase membership to access the library's materials themselves. In spite of being generally closed to the public, the library has a room with several Aether Linked devices available to the public during business hours.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Fîfk-èyîkè Ye's natural decorations nor waterways.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

The locals are convinced that there is some terrible threat against them working from within their society. It may be a matter of dark sorcerers, foreign spies, traitorous neighbors, shape shifting monsters, or some other hidden evil. This evil may be a recent fear, or it may be an inherited peril they’ve always had to guard against. The danger itself may or may not exist, or if it exists it may not justify the steps being taken.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its striking sculptural forms and often dazzling ornamental detail that characterizes the buildings general shape. The radiant colors, rich patterns, and symmetrical silhouettes employed by this style were backed up by rich decorative features including gardens, courtyards, extruded arches, domes, pointed domes, vaulted ceilings, elaborate painted and inlaid designs, and decorative sculptures.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is short in Fîfk-èyîkè Ye.

The Bonewrought Willow near Fîfk-èyîkè Ye are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Fîfk-èyîkè Ye's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves sex to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 3 via guttural bellowing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Fîfk-èyîkè Ye was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Fîfk-èyîkè Ye lost 199 people, 180 livestock, and 52 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 65, when members of Fîfk-èyîkè Ye's militia enacted an operation to deliver a message to a particular temple, then reinforce it. The operation was complicated by the militia had access to far less resources than expected. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in victory for Fîfk-èyîkè Ye's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Fîfk-èyîkè Ye's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
